Open Records Requests (Public Information Act)

    NOTE: Do not use the Open Records Request for student records requests. The Open Records Requests is not the process for requesting trancripts and other student records.

  • Open Records Requests

    Amarillo ISD, as a local governmental entity, is subject to the requirements of the Texas Public Information Act.

    All open records requests must be submitted in writing and should contain:

    • Your name
    • Address
    • Phone number
    • Fax number (if applicable)
    • Description of the information and/or document being requested

    Open records requests must be sent as follows:

    Designation of District Non-Business Days 
    In accordance with House Bill 3033 and Section 552.0031 of the Texas Government Code, the Amarillo ISD Board of Trustees has designated the following school holidays as District non-business days for Public Information Act timelines. In addition to state and/or national holidays, the following days will not be counted as business days for purposes of the District's response to public information requests.
