About Our School Counselors

Professional schools counselors are available at all Amarillo ISD schools to provide services to students, parents, school staff, and community members following the American School Counselor Framework (ASCA) in the following areas:

• Guidance Curriculum
• Responsive Services
• Individual Planning
• System Support

School counselors also assist with the following services:

• Consultation with students and parents about academic, social, emotional and behavior concerns
• Coordination of crisis intervention for students and staff
• Provision of staff development and training for staff and parents
• Coordination of standardized assessments for students, and interpretation of test scores
• Distribution of information about career awareness and resources for post-secondary education
• Provision of resources for social services
