The Challenge Academy is a volunteer program for 16-18 year old teens that are at risk of dropping out or that have already dropped out of high school. The program is open to all students but requires a 17 1/2 month commitment. It has an accredited high school based on military practices. Cadets will work towards high school credit recovery, obtaining their GED and earn a high school diploma.

This is a program that helps women with assistance to get back to the job market. They provide specific skills like communication skills, computer skills, financial management, networking abilities. They are placed with a mentor that gives support and friendship.

Courses at Computer Career Center in Amarillo, TX equip students with the education and skills they need to complete certificates in computer technology, office, and healthcare careers.

The certificate training programs enable students just like you to study subjects like advanced technical support, including computer software and security concepts. Certificates in healthcare administration and office administration are also in high demand in this diverse and growing city. CCC enables students to train for certificates in these careers, as well. Large numbers of people and large numbers of businesses in Amarillo, TX need skilled administration professionals to function.

The Computer lab has 10 computer available for computer training classes. Job training also consist of basic interview skills, help with filling out applications and resumes. Job bank is updated weekly.

DAC (Diploma and Certificate) Program

This is a joint project between the Amarillo Independent School District and Amarillo College. Participants will be able to earn high school credits along with college credits in technical program.

The criteria for the program is: Students will be between 17-25 years old. Students will need to recovery no more thatn 5 credits to gain a diploma. Students must have been enrolled in AISD when they failed to complete the diploma requirements.
